Atlantic Team Loses Their Captain Long-Term

Kyle Okposo and the Buffalo Sabres last played on December 31, 2023, against the Ottawa Senators, and the game resulted in a 5-1 win for the Senators. Unfortunately the game resulted in more than just a lost for the Sabres.

According to Lance Lysowski, Reporter for the Buffalo News:

Okposo still played the whole game despite the discomfort and the score. It is possible that playing the full game made the injury worse. Okposo is now out multiple weeks

The Buffalo Sabres account confirmed the news that Okposo will miss multiple weeks due to a lower body injury

Kyle Okposo, the captain of the Sabres, has mostly been a fourth line forward for Buffalo this season, like the past couple seasons. He is a top checking forward on the team, a leader, and also plays the second powerplay.

This season he has 14 points in 38 games, eight goals and six assists, and is averaging 13:58 of ice time per game.
