Expensive Forward Likely On His Way Out of Washington

The Washington Capitals have had a tough season when it comes to veterans. Alex Ovechkin has lost a step, Nicklas Backstrom has left the team, John Carlson isn't producing, and Evgeny Kuznetzov is falling short of expectations.

We are very far removed from Washington Capitals star Evgeny Kuznetsov near points per game season. Now he is a liability and he's making over $7 million annually.

It's no secret that he wants to be traded, and that the Washington Capitals would love to move him. Thus rumours are now sparking that is done in Washington and he will be traded in the off-season.

Due to his expensive cost, the Washington Capitals can't expect too much in return, unless they retain significant salary.

It will be interesting to see what's next for Kuznetzov.
