The Dallas Stars were set to practice Friday, but the whole thing has been cancelled and the team won't or can't say why.

"The Stars have cancelled practice today. The team cannot reveal why, and the league will handle communication on this matter," said Matthew DeFranks of the Dallas News.

"Reminder that teams cannot reveal any COVID-19 news and that the league is sending updates on testing."

While there's no official word yet from the league, it appears the Stars may be dealing with an outbreak of COVID-19. If that is indeed the case, that is a tough break with the season set to get underway in just five days.

We'll provide more details on this situation as soon as they become available. The NHL stated a couple of weeks ago that positive individual COVID-19 tests will not be revealed during training camp, but will be announced during the regular season.
