Today a major update has been provided regarding the status of Samuel Girard after he entered the NHL's Player Assistance Program.

Around a month ago Samuel Girard and the NHL announced he would be entering the NHL's Player Assistance Program.

Girard himself later confirmed the news. He mentioned he was entering the program to handle problems relating to depression and anxiety. Since entering the program not much was mentioned about Girard. Today there has finally been an update on Girard's status.
Major Update On Girard Revealed Following Entry Into Player Assistance Program
Today the Colorado Avalanche provided fans with a major update on Girard's status. Much to the surprise of everyone Girard returned to practice for the first time today.
"Avs Sam Girard is on the ice with the team this morning for the first time since leaving after 15 games to enter the NHL's Player Assistance program.
In a statement at that time, he said he needed help with some mental health issues, depression and severe anxiety."

It seems as though Girard is nearing a return to the NHL with his return to practice. It is unclear if he will play any games before the Colorado Avalanche have their holiday break or not.
Either way, it is good to see Samuel Girard back in a hockey rink and potentially back playing soon.
