The Capitals have placed defenseman Lucas Johansen on waivers, per Bailey Johnson.
"Lucas Johansen on waivers today. Would potentially indicate the Ethan Bear signing getting across the line soon — Caps are at the maximum of 23 on the roster and already had eight defensemen on the NHL roster"

Johansen scored one assists in six games with the Capitals this season.
We'll know Johansen's fate in 24 hours, but chances are he'll report to the Hershey Bears, in the AHL.
