A scary scene nearly happened to this Coyotes Star after it was revealed his subpar hospital care could have led him to die from his injuries.
Coyotes Star Valimaki Told To Leave Hospital Which Could Have HAd Massive Repercussions
Juuso Valimaki suffered a brutal face injury during the Coyotes game against the Dallas Stars when he took a slapshot directly to the face. Valimaki was taken immediately to the local Dallas hospital, where he was left with just his Wife and a Coyotes Team employee.
However, the scary part was the care Valimaki received initially, being told by the doctors to leave and go to a hotel instead of staying in the hospital for surgery.
»Doctors later told Valimaki that if he had returned to a hotel and slept it off as directed by the hospital, there was a chance he could have asphyxiated on his own blood.»

Incident Raising Eyebrows Among Players For More Action from NHL and NHLPA
Players were of course concerned for their teammates and further were concerned about the protocol that they might have to go through if they need to visit a hospital.
-
The NHLPA has confirmed that they are investigating the incident, however, their Health Protocol is not available publically. Luckily for Valimaki, he was able to advocate for himself in what could have been a life-threatening situation.
As seen on Daily Faceoff - "Sources: Coyotes' Valimaki left at Dallas hospital 'unable to function' after puck to face Nov. 14"
Do you think the NHLPA needs to improve its health protocol?
