Yesterday, surprising news emerged suggesting that the Washington Capitals will be leaving their home arena in D.C, which caught many off guard, especially as D.C was actively working on securing a longer lease agreement.

However, according to Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravelli, there's a new twist in the story. The Mayor of D.C has announced that he would financially support the renovations in the current Capitals' arena.
"And, on the night news breaks about a press conference announcing the Capitals plan to move to Virginia - Washington DC mayor announces support for $500 million in renovations to their current home Capital One Arena."

This proposed plan outlines a $500 million investment in upgrading Capital One Arena over a three-year period, along with the promise of a new lease agreement that extends until 2052.
