Tragic News For Bruins Legend Brad Marchand

On December 3rd some tragic news involving Brad Marchand and his family was announced. Despite the sad news Marchand was still able to go out and perform at a high level.

Marchand Suffers A Tragic Loss

On December 3rd it was announced that Brad Marchand had lost his grandmother Frances O'Leary earlier in the week.





With a loss of that magnitude, many players would have taken a couple of days or games off. Marchand decided to honor his grandmother and her legacy by continuing to play. His play in honor of his grandmother was exceptional and inspiring.

Marchand Honors His Family With Outstanding Performance

Marchand throughout the weekend had some incredible performances that honored his grandmother and helped his family heal together.

On December 2nd Marchand went into a matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He dominated the rivalry game and sent the Maple Leaf fans home disappointed.





Then he followed up the game-winner with an even bigger personal performance the next night. Against the Columbus Blue Jackets Marchand pulled off an impressive natural hat trick.



Marchand went out and honored his family in such an emotional and impactful way this weekend. He also ensured that his Boston Bruins stayed in control of the Eastern Conference in two conference matchups.
