BREAKING: Corey Perry's Agent Releases a Statement

The ongoing uncertainty between Chicago Blackhawks and veteran winger Corey Perry became even murkier.

On Saturday, the player's agent, Pat Morris with Newport Sports Management, released a statement noting that Perry has stepped away from the team.

Recently, Perry was a healthy scratch from a game following a rough patch in which he contributed only two goals in a six-game stretch that saw the team go 1-5.

He is tied for third on the team with four games and nine points this season, having played in 16 games mostly with third line.

Blackhawks General Manager Kyle Davidson recently noted that Perry would be away from the team for "the foreseeable future."
