With the 2021 World Junior Championships creeping up on countries very fast, Team Canada has had to make cuts in their selection camp, fresh off their return to action after a mandatory 14-day quarantine. The battles for position have been intense, as there is a lot of talent on team Canada's roster this year.

Seven players were released from the team's selection camp today. Goaltenders Brett Brochu and Tristan Lennox were both released, along with forwards Adam Beckman, Tyson Foerster, Hendrix Lapierre, Cole Schwindt, and surprisingly Shane Wright. Wright is a top five pick for the 2022 NHL draft, and many people believed he would be able to crack Canada's World Junior's roster this year.

Canada is now down to 3 goalies, 20 forwards, and 11 defenseman. No matter who makes the final roster out of this group, Canada will be a force in the upcoming tournament.

The 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship will take place starting on December 26, and the 10 teams will enter the bubble in Edmonton on Sunday.
