The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they've re-signed defenceman Philippe Myers to a three-year contract worth$7.65 million ($2.55 million AAV).

"We're happy to have Phil signed for the next three years," said Flyer general manager Chuck Fletcher. "He is a big, mobile right shot defenseman who progressed into a top four role on our blue line last season. We look forward to his continued growth."

"It's an honor to be a part of the Flyers for the next three years and I'm really looking forward to it," said Myers. "We have a real good team and I am very excited at what we are going to achieve this year and the years to come. I really do believe in this group and my expectations are to go all the way with these guys and I wouldn't have it any other way."

Myers, 23, was signed by the Philadelphia Flyers as an undrafted free agent in September 2015, after attending the teams training camp on a amateur try-out contract.

In 71 regular season games, Myers has tallied 18 points (5 G, 13 A), 32 penalty minutes, and is a +12. In 16 career playoff games, he has 4 points (3 G, 1 A), 8 penalty minutes, and is a +2.

Before turning pro, Myers spent four years in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. During the 2015-16 season, Myers and the Huskies won the President's Cup as QMJHL champions, which earned them a berth at the 2016 Memorial Cup. Rouyn-Noranda would make it all the way to the Memorial Cup final before losing in overtime to the London Knights.

Internationally, Myers has represented Canada on a few occasions, most recently at the 2019 IIHF World Hockey Championships. In 7 games, he had 1 point (1 A), 0 penalty minutes, and was a +/-0 as Canada took home silver following a loss to Finland in the gold medal game.

Myers also played for Canada at the 2017 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships. In 4 games he put up 3 points (3 A), 4 penalty minutes, and was a +1, as Canada lost to the USA in the gold medal game, ultimately capturing the silver medal.
