The Boston Bruins announced yesterday that former captain Ed Sandford has passed away.
Sandford was a part of the Bruins organization for 8 seasons.
Ed Sandford began his NHL career in 1947 and played for just under a decade retiring in 1956. In his 9 year career, he played for the Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings, and Chicago Blackhawks.
In his 502 career games, Sandford had 251 points. He was also a five-time all-star. Sandford was also recognized by the Bruins as one of the 100 most legendary players in franchise history.
