Phil Kessel has remained unsigned as the season has begun. Now, it appears that the Iron Man has his potential future teams narrowed down to just two.

Insider Reports that Phil Kessel in Serious Talks with Two Teams

Phil Kessel is currently the leader in most consecutive games played, having the longest active Iron Man streak in the NHL. However, he has unfortunately missed the first few games of the season as he waits for a contract.

Now, it appears he may be closer to closing the deal with two teams, as NHL insider David Pagnotta reports.

Kessel has two legitimate options right now that are both contingent on those teams moving out money before bringing him in.

My understanding is Kessel is healthy and ready to join a team as soon as a deal can be ironed out. Unfortunately, for him, he has to play the waiting game.

Kessel Would be a Significant Addition to Any Team Looking for a Veteran Locker Room Guy

While Kessel's game has declined over the past few seasons, it doesn't erase the extremely lengthy resume he has padded over the course of his career. He has won three Stanley Cups, one as recently as last season, played in nearly 1300 games, and can still muster that deadly snapshot once in a while.

PHIL KESSEL IS ONCE AGAIN A STANLEY CUP CHAMPION 🌭🏆

While he awaits a contract to sign, one team in the NHL is likely going to get a nice bump along the wing with a veteran depth scorer.
