Phil Kessel is currently the leader in most consecutive games played, having the longest active Iron Man streak in the NHL. However, he has unfortunately missed the first few games of the season as he waits for a contract.
Now, it appears he may be closer to closing the deal with two teams, as NHL insider David Pagnotta reports.
While Kessel's game has declined over the past few seasons, it doesn't erase the extremely lengthy resume he has padded over the course of his career. He has won three Stanley Cups, one as recently as last season, played in nearly 1300 games, and can still muster that deadly snapshot once in a while.
While he awaits a contract to sign, one team in the NHL is likely going to get a nice bump along the wing with a veteran depth scorer.
