The person that tested positive for the virus was not in any contact with the players, or hockey staff, but the team must isolate as a precaution.
Halifax was supposed to have a game this Saturday versus the Charlottetown Islanders and on Wednesday versus the Cape Breton Eagles, but both have been postponed.
The Mooseheads are now the sixth team in the QMJHL that has announced a positive test, and this number will likely continue to grow.
Just this past Thursday, the Saint John Sea Dogs suspended all in-person activity when a staff member also tested positive. They were the first team in the Maritimes Division to be hit with a positive test.
Of the three major junior hockey leagues in Canada, the QMJHL is the only one to start play this season, as the Ontario Hockey League and Western Hockey League both have planned to start their seasons in 2021.
