The Ducks are in danger of angering their young stars as reports arise that RFA contract negotiations could anger young guns.
Ducks' Young Core Essential to Future are Angered over RFA Negotiations
Recently, on the 32 Thoughts Podcast, Elliotte Friedman speculated that the Ducks could be in danger of angering their young stars
Trevor Zegras and
Jamie Drysdale who are both restricted free agents. Other reports have circulated that the Ducks are potentially trying to lower their annual salaries, potentially on long-term contracts.
The Ducks are in no state to be making things worse for their future stars. The organization has been in some disarray and is in the midst of its long-term rebuild. Vital to that future are
Trevor Zegras and
Jamie Drysdale.
Zegras and Drysdale Worth Their Weight and Should be Kept Happy, Not Angered
Zegras has quickly become the face of the Ducks organization, and deservedly so. The young forward has been able to put up some decent numbers despite being on a team that struggles to score, which shows his offensive prowess at a young age.
Drysdale is no exception, either. In his 113 NHL games, he has shown he has what it takes to compete in the NHL despite being only 21 years old. The Ducks management should be looking for creative solutions to keep them happy, which might even have to be a bridge contract, to keep the rebuild momentum going.
