The Edmonton Oilers have been on the verge of a deep Stanley Cup run for a few years now, and unsurprisingly, it looks like they're going all in around their superstar duo to make that happen.

More additions coming?

The team added Connor Brown and brought back some key pieces this summer, but according to Eklund of Hockey Buzz, they're still eyeing another key piece to bolster their team before the 2023-24 season begins.

His latest report has reiterated the reports from all summer long, that the Oilers remain interested in the Flyers Travis Sanheim, who could be a genuine difference maker on their blue line next season.

A consistent defenseman

In six full seasons with the Flyers, the 27-year old Sanheim has put together 36 goals and 131 points, and while he's not on the level of a player like Erik Karlsson, who the team had plenty of interest in, Sanheim could be a consistent force on the back end for Edmonton.

At this point, it's uncertain whether they're looking to make a move at the deadline or before the season begins, but the Oilers are just one step from a deep Cup run, so this may be the move that helps get them there.
