BREAKING: Galchenyuk Officially Charged Criminally

Alex Galchenyuk was recently arrested after an altercation with police in Arizona. He was swiftly released by the Arizona Coyotes. Since then we have been waiting to see what is next for Galchenyuk

According to a tweet by Katie Strang of The Athletic five of Galchenyuk's charges have been dismissed. He still does face one charge.

Alex Galchenyuk still faces one misdemeanor threatening charge which he has pleaded guilty to.

Galchenyuk has reportedly been sentenced to 30 days in jail with 27 of those days suspended and one day already served. He will also have to refrain from consuming alcohol for 12 months and complete an alcohol recovery program.

Since his arrest, Galchenyuk has taken a step back from hockey to focus on his mental health. According to reports multiple KHL teams have been interested in his services. After his legal commitments are over it will be an interesting development to see if he gets another chance in professional hockey.
