Phil Kessel's Sister Joins NHL Franchise

The Pittsburgh Penguins continue to stay busy this off-season making an exciting addition to their front office. Olympic Gold Medalist Amanda Kessel has signed on to be the Special Assistant to the President of Hockey Operations

Amanda Kessel comes to the Penguins front office thanks in part to her incredibly successful playing career. After a dominant tenure at the University of Minnesota Kessel would go on to play for team USA. She was part of the Gold Medal winning squad at the 2018 Olympic Games.

Amanda follows her brother Phil who spent multiple seasons in Pittsburgh and won two Stanley Cups. She will look to out shine her brother and bring multiple Stanley Cups in her tenure as well.

Amanda Kessel is the latest in a long line of women to join NHL front offices. She has also been an integral part in growing the women's game which recently saw an acquisition between the PWPHA and the PHF. As of now, Kessel is listed as playing in the PHF in the 2023-24 season along with her duties with the Penguins.
