Russian Hockey Player Mysteriously Found Dead at 21
Some very sad news out of Russia as a young hockey player has been found dead at just 21 years of age.
Just Starting His Career
Georgi Savin, a native of Moscow, played in the Vityaz Podolsk system for the last several years, and even played in 13 games for the KHL team in 2021-22, scoring one goal. This year, Savin had been playing in both the VHL, Russia's second-tier league behind the KHL, as well as the NMHL, which is Russia's national junior hockey league.
Cause of Death
While details are still scarce, it appears Savin took his own life. Why or how isn't known. Our sincere condolences to Savin's family and friends.
