NHL insider Elliotte Friedman just reported that the Vancouver Canucks have decided to buyout a pricey Canucks defenseman.
Before the buyout, Ekman-Larsson had a cap hit of $8.25 million. After a disappointing season with only 22 points, the Canucks have decided to move on from Ekman-Larsson.
They will be paying his salary at a reduced rate over the next 8 years.
