The draft is in less than three weeks and there's a lot of speculations about the picks two to five. It's all but confirmed that the Chicago Blackhawks will select Connor Bedard at the first position, but the others in the top five is cause for debate.
Matvei Michkov, considered the second best player behind Bedard, will probably drop at the top five because of his nationality.
Adam Fantilli, Leo Carlsson and Will Smith are the other best players available. All indicates that they'll be picked between the second and fourth picks.
A recent scoop made the draft order a little bit clearer.
The Sharks Have Chosen
It's been reported that the San Jose Sharks will pick Will Smith at the fourth position.
"The #Sharks are reportedly leaning towards drafting Will Smith with the fourth-overall pick.
Smith, 18, had 66 goals, 169 points through 80 games played with the USNTDP. He also had 9 goals, 20 points through 7 games played at the U18-WJC.
This is reportedly under the belief that the top-three order will go Bedard, Fantilli, and Carlsson, which is what many around the league believe will happen.
Smith is believed to be flying to San Jose for a tour of the city. - Puck Empire
If the Sharks are flying Smith to San Jose, that means they're sure that he'll be available.
The draft order could be already known within the NHL, at least for the four firsts picks.
It'll be confirmed on June 28th, when the teams converge in Nashville for the Draft.
