The Capitals forward known for his knack to score and get under the skin of opponents is reportedly trying to be extended by Washington.

Tom Wilson is your favorite player's least favorite player. He gets into fights regularly and throws his weight around sometimes with the apparent intent to injure.
With that being said, he is a player you hate to play against but would love to have on your own team.
Washington knows this and wants to get a deal done.
Wilson, who has struggled to be healthy recently, will look for a pay raise but it will come with certain risks. With a player as physical as Wilson, the chances they get injured are quite high. Wilson has only played more than 75 games 5 times in his 10-year career.
While Wilson will certainly be worth the money he is paid if healthy, there is a good chance his shelf life is shorter than his contract length handicapping Washington a few years down the road.
