The Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings faced off on a possible first round playoff matchup. Just over a minute into the game, Oilers forward Connor McDavid delivered a dangerous hit to Kings forward Mikey Anderson along the boards.

The hit sent Anderson face first into the boards and left him busted open and injured. Anderson wouldn't play another shift in the game and many expected McDavid to be ejected for his action.

McDavid was somehow only awarded a minor penalty on the play and today NHL Department of Player Safety confirmed there would be no supplemental discipline on the play.
