New York Rangers lock up key player with four-year extension

The New York Rangers aren't waiting until the offseason to sign a core player to an extension. The Blueshirts have announced that 23-year-old Filip Chytil, a first-round draft pick in 2017, has signed a new four-year deal. It carries a annual average value (AAV) of $4.4375 million.
Chytil is enjoying a career year with new highs in goals (22), assists (20), and points (44). His previous high in goals was 14, while points was 23.
Chytil's current deal, which runs out at the end of this season, has an AAV of $2.3 million.
