Last night in Arizona, the Edmonton Oilers faced off against the Arizona Coyotes and came away with a 5-4 victory. However, it was an incident involving Leon Draisaitl during the 1st period faceoff against Jack McBain that garnered attention.
On a faceoff McBain's stick appeared to hit Draisaitl's midsection, prompting Draisaitl to swing his stick in McBain's direction, but missing him. Unfortunately, Draisaitl's swing connected with the linesman instead, but he was still penalized for slashing, despite not actually hitting the official.

Interestingly, a similar play last season resulted in no disciplinary action for Nate MacKinnon, so it's unlikely that this incident will have any serious consequences for Draisaitl.
Should Draisaitl have received a bigger punishment for this play?
