Bad news for Bruins fans.
Head coach Jim Montgomery announced on Tuesday that D
Derek Forbort is not expected to return for the regular season. Forbort was injured in Saturday's game against the Buffalo Sabres after blocking a shot.
While the Bruins' remaining regular season games have little significance, Forbort's availability for the playoffs is of the utmost importance. The Bruins' have been so good that one piece likely won't make or break the team (save
David Pastrnak), but Forbort is a key component of their defense.
That said, at this stage they don't want to mess with their dynamite chemistry for any sort of prolonged period, especially in the postseason.
