The National Hockey League and the 32 General Managers are currently meeting in Florida and typically we find out news about certain events, including the draft lottery.

Earlier on Wednesday, National Hockey League commissioner Gary Bettman announced that this year's draft lottery will be held on Monday, May 8th at 7 p.m. ET. At that time, projected first-overall pick Connor Bedard will likely learn who he'll be selected by.

Currently, the Columbus Blue Jackets have the best odds to land the Canadian hockey phenom, with a 25.5% chance. The San Jose Sharks have the second-best odds at 13.5%, while Chicago has the third-best odds at 11.5%. Anaheim and Philadelphia round out the top-five with 9.5% and 8.5%, respectfully.

The highest odds among Canadian-based teams is Montreal Canadiens, who sit sixth at 7.5% and are only one point up on Philadelphia in the NHL standings.

Connor Bedard is having a season for the ages as the captain of the Western Hockey League's Regina Pats. In 51 games, the North Vancouver native has 125 points (61 goals, 64 assists), 56 penalty minutes and is a plus-32.

The impact Bedard has had on his WHL team has been remarkable. When Bedard returned from the World Juniors, the Regina Pats were on the cusp on the playoffs, flirting between eighth and ninth, but now sit sixth in the WHL's Eastern Conference.

Who do you think will land the first overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft and select Connor Bedard? Have your say in the poll below!
