This really is a head-scratcher. Time and time again, the NHL has reviewed goals where a goaltender appears to have no chance of stopping a puck due to interference, only to have the goal stand. It happened again Sunday night in a game between the Winnipeg Jets and Tampa Bay Lightning.
Around midway through the second period of the game,
Morgan Barron would bury a rebound to put Winnipeg up 3-1.
Brenden Dillon was the initial shooter, and after the save was made his momentum clearly caused him to bump into Bolts goaltender
Andrei Vasilevskiy, leaving him no chance to make the save. Tampa Bay head coach Jon Cooper challenged for goaltender interference, but was denied on the review. Here are a couple of different angles of the play. The argument can be made that Vasilevskiy likely wouldn't have been able to make the save either way, but there was certainly contact before the puck went into the net. You can have your say at the bottom of this article.
