Nutrition is a huge part of being a professional athlete, but some take it to another level. On one hand, Phil Kessel eats hot dogs, cookies, and will refuse to play if he can't drink Coke in the locker room.
On the other, players like Jakob Chychrun have some of the most hardcore diets known to man. The Senators' defenseman recently gave an interview in which he detailed his crazy diet; raw liver and beef heart.

The nutritional benefits of eating organs are well-documented. The protein levels and mineral supplements alone provide enormous value.
Instagram personality Paul Saladino M.D. has a great, informative channel on the benefits of eating organs, specifically liver:
Even so, consuming raw organs will always seem weird, full stop.
You're telling me that Phil Kessel - the NHL's all-time Iron Man - eats hot dogs and Coca-Cola? Meanwhile Chychrun - who's played a career-high of 68 games (2016-17) - eats like the Liver King...
Something doesn't add up...
