Stanley Cup Playoff clinching scenarios for March 11th

We're nearly one month away from the conclusion of the 2022-23 regular season and the NHL's top team, the Boston Bruins, will have another chance on Saturday afternoon to clinch a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Here's how the Bruins can clinch on Saturday:

- If they defeat the Red Wings in regulation AND the Islanders lose to the Capitals in any fashion OR the Senators lose to the Canucks in regulation.

OR

- If they defeat the Red Wings in overtime/shootout AND the Islanders lose to the Capitals in regulation OR the Senators lose to the Canucks in regulation.

The Boston Bruins currently sit atop the NHL's standings with a record of 49-9-5 through 63 games this season and are well on their way to win the Presidents' Trophy for the second time in four seasons.

Puck drop for this afternoon's Original Six clash between Boston and Detroit is set for 1 p.m. ET and can be viewed on Sportsnet One in Canada, as well as ABC in the United States.
