The Vegas Golden Knights announced on Wednesday evening that they've acquired forward Teddy Blueger from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Peter DiLiberatore and a 2024 third-round pick.
Blueger, 28, was drafted by the Penguins in 2012 and signed with them in 2016 following a four-year NCAA career. In 45 games this season, Blueger has ten points (two goals, eight assists), 16 penalty minutes and is a minus-seven.
The Riga native is in the final year of a two-year contract he signed in 2021, which carries a cap hit of $2.2 million. He's set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
DiLiberatore, 22, was a sixth-round pick of the Golden Knights in 2018 and has spent the past few seasons in the AHL. So far in the 2022-23 campaign, the 6'0" blueliner has split time between Henderson (AHL) and Savannah (ECHL), recording three assists in 22 games for the Silver Knights and three assists in 18 games for the Ghost Pirates.
