Per TSN's Pierre LeBrun, Arizona Coyotes general manager John Chayka has voided his contract with the team. Steve Sullivan, who was one of the teams two assistant general managers, will take over on an interim basis.

This comes after rumours throughout the week that Chayka and the team may be parting ways. One of the major telling signs came out when it was leaked the team was having contract discussions with Taylor Hall, but Chayka was not invited. There was also a story that came out earlier this week hinting that he may not be travelling with the team to Edmonton for the upcoming Stanley Cup Playoffs.

While Chayka's tenure with the Coyotes wasn't overly successful, it is had to blame him. At the time he was hired in May of 2016, he was just 26-years-old, which is the youngest general manager in NHL history. He made some good deals for the team, but had many key players miss significant time with injuries throughout the years, and they struggled as a result. LeBrun has reported that Chayka may have left the team to pursue a new venture outside of the NHL.
