According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Colorado Avalanche have placed veteran forward Brad Hunt on waivers for the purpose of assigning him to the American Hockey League.
Hunt, 34, signed a two-year contract worth $1.525 million ($762,500 AAV) with the Avalanche last summer after spending the 2021-22 season with the Vancouver Canucks.
In 26 games this season with the Avalanche, he's put up six points (three goals, three assists), eight penalty minutes and is a plus-two. Meanwhile in 22 games for their AHL affiliate, Hunt has 20 points (six goals, 14 assists), 12 penalty minutes and is a plus-11.
If Hunt clears waivers at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, he'll be assigned to the AHL's Colorado Eagles.
