The Arizona Coyotes do not seem to like the Anaheim Ducks. At all.
Last season,
Coyotes' forward Jay Beagle beat up Troy Terry after the Ducks were trouncing the Yotes. Beagle's actions sparked debate over whether or not 'skilling it up' warrants physical retribution.
In Saturday night's showdown between the two sides, tensions arose again, this time featuring
Trevor Zegras and Arizona defenseman
Troy Stecher. Zegras muttered something to Stecher, which set the defenseman on a wrathful tirade:
Zegras' remarks still haven't been confirmed, but whatever they were Stecher was absolutely
furious. So furious, that folks want to know what Zegras said to set Stecher off like that.
Early in the scrum, if you try to read Zegras' lips - it looks like he said 'your dad is up watching, huh?' while pointing to the sky.
Stecher's dad passed away in 2020.
Now, there has been
no confirmation that this is what Zegras said. However, reading Zegras' lips and gauging Stecher' reaction, that would make a lot of sense.
IF - big IF - Zegras did indeed go there, that is reprehensible behavior, and the NHL will absolutely look into it.
