Evander Kane made his return to NHL action on Tuesday for the first time since his gruesome laceration suffered on November 8th. His second game back was fittingly against the Tampa Bay Lightning, who was the opponent on that fateful evening.

One storyline ahead of time was how the clash of Kane and Pat Maroon - whose skate caused Kane's injury - would unfold. Well, during pre-game warm-ups Maroon sought out Kane and issued a sincere apology, which Kane accepted.

What a fine gesture from Maroon. Thankfully Kane was able to return to action ahead of schedule. Some speculated immediately after his injury that Kane may never play again.
