The Edmonton Oilers will get forward Evander Kane back on Tuesday night, and in order to fit his salary on the books a couple of roster moves were in order.

Per a team release, the Oilers have placed forward Kailer Yamamoto and defenseman Ryan Murray on long-term injured reserve in response to Kane's surprise return:

Yamamoto has been dealing with a 'multitude' of injuries this season, according to Frank Seravalli and is eligible to return on February 12.

Murray, on the other hand, is dealing with a back injury and was expected to miss about a month upon initial estimates in mid-December, but it appears as though that timeline was extended.

Seravalli also added that Jesse Puljujarvi, Warren Foegele and Derek Ryan have all been made available for trade. Per CapFriendly, the Oilers have $0 in cap space with over $9 million dedicated to LTIR. They absolutely need to clear cap space but will not find many willing suitors in the current climate...
