The Dallas Stars have fired an employee for racist comments made on NextDoor, a social networking service for neighborhoods. The employee was describing how to rid his local area of problematic squirrels. His comments were later posted to several other social media sites such as Twitter.
According to Sean Shapiro, who covers the Stars for The Athletic, the employee was fired immediately once the comments were brought to the attention of the team. He reports the person was involved in the business side of the team rather than hockey operations.
