Another Fan Brawl Breaks Out, This Time at Panthers's FLA Live Arena

Anomalously, the number of fan fights at NHL games seems to be skyrocketing in the 2022-23 season. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but the feelings I that there is another fight every week, sometimes even more frequently than that.

Earlier this week, a mass brawl broke out at the Bruins-Coyotes game. A couple days before that, a fight broke out between fans at the Panthers-Red Wings game on Thursday night.

What is contributing to the spike in fan-brawls can only be speculated. Is it the stress of the current economic landscape? Pent up frustration from the pandemic? Are hockey rivalries reaching an all-time high?

Could be all three.

Whatever it is, stadiums should probably take some preventative measures because this is not the type of publicity teams want, even if it makes for entertaining content.
