According to CapFriendly, the Colorado Avalanche have placed 2012 third overall pick Alex Galchenyuk and forward Jayson Megna on waivers for the purpose of assigning them to the American Hockey League.
Galchenyuk, 28, recently signed a one-year contract worth $750,000 with the Avalanche after a successful PTO with their AHL affiliate. He originally joined the team in training camp on a PTO, but was released after one pre-season game due to an injury he suffered.
In three games for the Avalanche, the Milwaukee (Wisconsin) native has no points, no penalty minutes and is a minus-three, while averaging 10:16 TOI per game.
Megna, 32, is in the final year of a two-year deal he signed with the Avalanche in the summer of 2021. In 13 games with Colorado, he has no points, two penalty minutes and is a plus-one.
The Fort Lauderdale (Florida) native has already appeared in nine AHL games this season and performed quite well, putting up six points (three goals, three assists), 12 penalty minutes and is a plus-three.
