Miles Wood Sets a Wooden Stick Aflame in Attempts to Make a Curved Blade

The New Jersey Devils practiced in their Reverse Retro jerseys on Wednesday, ahead of their Thursday night matchup against the Nashville Predators. This will be the team's first appearance in their Red, Blue, and Yellow threads - an homage to their days as the Colorado Rockies.

To really set the stage, some of the guys on the team used straight-bladed wooden sticks in the start of practice - they eventually switched back to their everyday twigs, but...photo ops.

According to team reported Amanda Stein, Miles Wood tried to put a curve on his stick by blowtorching it like guys used to do before the advent of one-piece composite sticks. In doing so, he set the stick on fire, as pretty much any millennial would probably do.
