This is one of those things that you can't help but cringe while watching. During a game purported to involve varsity high school hockey players in Colorado, one player was knocked to the ice by another. The player still on his skates then proceeds to kick the downed player in the head, hitting his helmet, and then another kick in what appears to be the shoulder area. He only stops when tackled by one of the downed skater's teammates. Check it out:

According to a post underneath the video, a person claiming to be the boy's father says the matter has been turned over the police, and charges are pending. However, the person says while he agrees a punishment is warranted, he would like everyone to remember the offender is a kid and he doesn't want him pegged as a lifelong criminal. According to him, his son is 15, while the player making the kicks is 17.
That's my son. The one on the ice. He is fine, 1 kick to the body & one glanced off his head. the other team was pissed as my son spent 2 mins as the only D on the ice killing a 5-3 penalty (bench minors) for his HS JV team. And yes the police were involved, charges filed.— Mickey Keenan (@MickeyKeenan) November 28, 2022
While i agree some punishment is warranted, let's remember this is a kid. He made a bad decision doesn't mean he is a lifelong criminal.— Mickey Keenan (@MickeyKeenan) November 28, 2022
Does this incident warrant criminal charges
