According to George Richards of Florida Hockey Now, Panther captain Aleksander Barkov will not travel with the team for the start of their Western Canadian road trip and will miss Monday and Tuesday's games against Edmonton and Calgary, respectively.

Barkov, 27, missed Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to the St. Louis Blues due to an ongoing non-COVID illness he's been dealing with for at least the last couple of weeks.
He initially missed November 17th's game against Dallas, but was able to return to play the following three games against Calgary, Columbus and Boston.
The Tampere (Finland) native is having another strong season, which is his 10th in the NHL. In 19 games, Barkov has 18 points (five goals, 13 assists), no penalty minutes and is a plus-three.
To replace Barkov, at least for the first couple of games on the road trip, the Panthers have made an emergency call-up from the American Hockey League, bringing up fellow Finn, Aleksi Heponiemi. Heponiemi, 23, has already appeared in two games for Florida this season, recording one assist, no penalty minutes and is a plus-one.
