After being named the WHL goaltender of the year just last month, Dustin Wolf received yet another award on Monday, capturing the CHL Goaltender of the Year Award.

Wolf, 19, had a phenomenal season for the Everett Silvertips this season, his third year with the team. In 46 games played, he posted a 1.88 goals against average (GAA) and a .935 save percentage (SV%). He also recorded an excellent 34-10-2 record.

“I want to thank the CHL for the Goaltender of the Year Award, it's a really big honour,” said Wolf in a press release.

“I'd like to thank the coaching staff and everybody out in Everett. Additionally, our goalie coach James Jensen, for the continuous support throughout the season. I'd also like to thank my parents for the awesome support they give me each and every day, and finally I'd like to thank the fans for all the support they give us each and every game. It's a real pleasure playing out in Everett and I hope to see you guys next season.”

Wolf winning this honour means that a Silvertips goalie has won the award for the third time in the past five seasons. The other two were both won by now Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Carter Hart, with his wins coming in 2016 and 2018.

The Calgary Flames selected Wolf in the seventh round (214th overall) at the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Though it's early, it appears they got an absolute steal with the pick, as it looks like Wolf could become their franchise starting netminder in the upcoming years.
