Galchenyuk, a native of Milwaukee (Wisconsin), was with the Avalanche during training camp after signing a professional try-out contract (PTO) with them. He only appeared in one pre-season game before being released due to an injury he suffered.
The 2012 third overall pick hasn't lived up to expectations and has bounced around the NHL since the Canadiens traded him in the summer of 2018. In 643 games for Montreal, Arizona, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Ottawa and Toronto, Galchenyuk has 354 points (146 goals, 208 assists), 253 penalty minutes and is a minus-77.
Alex Galchenyuk has signed an AHL deal with the Colorado Eagles.
