Patrice Bergeron Discusses the Controversial Signing of Mitchell Miller
Patrice Bergeron joined Elliotte Friedman to discuss the team's decision to sign Mitchell Miller, who was charged in juvenile court for heinous abuse of a classmate seven years ago. The move has garnered widespread criticism, the majority of which is highly critical.
Bruins captain admitted that he, personally, was on the fence regarding the decision. He even went so far as to say that what happened goes against everything the team's identity stands for, yet he revealed that he was told that Miller was serious about changing for the better.
GM Don Sweeney has even admitted that this might be the wrong choice, but he still ran with it anyway. It is clear they didn't reach out to the victim's family beforehand, which is an oversight in itself. The whole situation feels sloppily handled, to be frank.
