Vancouver Canucks GM Patrik Allvin announced today that the team has activated forward Ilya Mikheyev and defenseman Tyler Myers from injured reserve. In a corresponding transaction, the Canucks also sent defenseman Noah Juulsen to the AHL.

The Canucks' season started about as ugly as it possibly could have, being the only team in NHL history to blow three separate multi-goal leads to lose their first three games. Hopefully, the return of these two can help right the ship.
Myers is probably Vancouver's best right-shot defenseman, so he ought to provide stability on the back-end. His experience could prove invaluable in turning things around, but I don't suspect him to score a whole lot.
Mikheyev, on the other hand, was brought in for the sole purpose to help out on offense. Through 146 games, Mikheyev scores right around a .5 point/game pace. Whether or not he brings that production level to Van-City is a whole other question.
Still, the Canucks are not in a position to turn down quality contributors. They square off against the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight, having held a 'players-only' meeting to address their latest collapse.
