St. Louis Blues defenseman Scott Perunovich will miss the next six months following shoulder surgery, per a club release:
-
The former Minnesota-Duluth Bulldog was crushed by Blackhawks' forward Michael Teply, causing Perunovich to leave early.
Perunovich, 24, won the 2020 Hobey Baker Award -- recognizing the NCAA's best player. In 115 games for the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Perunovich scored 105 points.
The St. Louis blue-liner has struggled mightily with injuries in the early-goings of his career, missing the entire 2020-21 season, and the majority of 2021-22. Now, Perunovich will not suit up until April at the earliest. Brutal news for the young defender.
