Chychrun hoping for a trade from Coyotes

Early into the 2021-22 season, it seemed like a matter of time before the Arizona Coyotes moved defenseman Jakob Chychrun. A year later, however, he remains part of the organization, though that may not be for much longer.

The 24-year-old recently admitted that he took the Coyotes up on their offer of trying to be traded. He expressed his desire to play for a more competitive team, something that the 'Yotes won't be for quite some time. Despite the trade not taking place yet, he has remained adamant that he would like to be moved.

The Coyotes played out this entire situation with Chychrun rather poorly. Had they traded him early into the 2021-22 season, they would have got a boatload in return given how exceptional he played throughout the 2020-21 campaign. However, he struggled majorly on a poorly constructed team last season, and has seen his stock decline. It will be interesting to see what the return for him at this time is, assuming a move does indeed get done in the near future.
