The Detroit Red Wings will head into training camp with a number of injuries, with varying recovery times.
Via their Twitter account on Wednesday, the Red Wings announced the following injuries and expected return dates to players on their roster:
- Andrew Copp (abdominal surgery in off-season), will return first week of the regular season.
- Jake Walman (shoulder surgery in off-season), will return in November.
- Robby Fabbri (ACL surgery) and Mark Pysyk (Achilles tendon surgery), both will return in the new year.
- Chase Pearson (personal reasons), is out indefinitely, no timeframe for his return.
The Red Wings will open their pre-season schedule next Tuesday (September 27th) against the Pittsburgh Penguins. They'll then open the regular season at home on October 14th against the Montreal Canadiens.
