of the Toronto Maple Leafs will be starting the season on long-term injured reserve. Leafs GM Kyle Dubas met with members of the media on Wednesday where he updated Liljegren's status. Liljegren recently had hernia surgery, and will miss a minimum of six weeks.
Liljegren is a former 1st-round pick (17th overall) of Toronto in 2017. Last year was the first full season in the NHL for the 23-year-old. He played 61 games, notching 5 goals and 23 points.
Toronto released its training camp roster Tuesday, and Liljegren isn't the only name on it who's currently on the injured list. Pierre Engvall
, Joseph Woll
, and Mikhail Abramov
are also listed as unavailable right now.
